You will need to submit/work on these files during the in-lab session, and it is your resp 20 Points Pre-Lab 2 – Spreadsheets  Basics Purpose : The purpose of this lab is to familiarize you with the basic components of Microsoft Excel XP. In this lab you will practice creating a worksheet, modifying an existing worksheet, using cell referencing, writing simple formulas and using basic Excel functions. Estimated Time to complete: Pre-Lab: 3-6 hours, closed lab session:1 hr. 48min – assignment to be distributed in class Pre-Lab – to be completed before coming to Lab Before coming to lab you should have completed the following readings: Excel Chapter 1 Levels 1-3 pages 504-545 Excel Chapter 2 Levels 1-2 pages 558-598 When working in our labs or on any computer system, we strongly advise that you save often. Computer systems can freeze at any time causing you to lose any unsaved work. 1. Complete the Steps to Success Chapter 1 - Level 1 tasks on pages 520-521 of the text. The starting file Labor.xlsx is available on Carmen. Save the completed Labor Costs.xlsx workbook to your Z:\windows\personal\lab2 directory. This file will be submitted at the beginning of your in-lab session. Be aware that opening and saving files will be different from the instructions given in the text book. Starting files will always be available on Carmen and all completed files must eventually be saved to your Z:\window\personal\ directory. 2. Complete the Steps to Success Chapter 1 Level 3 Steps to Success questions 1 and 2 (a-i) only on pages 545-547 of the text. Save the completed Textured Budget.xlsx workbook to your Z:\windows\personal\lab2 directory. This file will be submitted at the beginning of your in-lab session. 3. Complete the Candidates.xlsx problem below (Note: this problem is not in the course text). You work for a University admission committee that evaluates applicants. This file contains the names and scores of applicant candidates including the Application Type (regular or transfer), Verbal, Math SAT scores and Science SAT II scores. You have been asked to calculate a combined weighted score for each candidate, the combined average, the minimum and maximum scores for the applicant group, and summarize some statistics by application type. To complete this problem, use the following instructions: Open the file
