You should consider your project for this class in this discussion. First , from what you read so far in your research paper, what seems "shocking", something that you did not know or something you think would impact you if you visited the country of your project. Second , describe/explain why the understanding of culture shock is important. Culture shock is a phenomenon that occurs when someone is introduced to a new culture and don’t feel comfortable. A person in culture shock can feel homesick, and like they don’t belong. While I was researching China for my research paper, I found that many things that are considered norms in the West are considered strange or offensive in China. I found the degree of respect given to families very high in comparison to what we see here in America. If many American children
