Walmart is a company that celebrates its history and the communities they are part of today. The name of the company is derived from its owner, Sam Walton. The company still acclaims their good fortune to the leadership and success shown by Sam Walton in the first Walmart store in Rogers, Arkansas. Walmart attributes its success to leadership of its founder and the generations of associates that has followed. An interesting facet of the company’s can be seen through the changes the Walmart logo has undergone. In the beginning stages of the company, Walmart did not have a logo; the company name appeared in print however the printer wanted. After sometime, the company adopted a “frontier” logo, shifting with the tastes of the country. After many changes and edits, the current logo is the company name in a sleek font with the iconic spark. In my opinion, the timeline of the company logo can tell the story of the company, who it was catering to, and how the public perceived the company.
