It is also the process of gathering relatedinformation about a job. The immediate products of Job analysis are job description and jobspecification.Q2. Explain in brief the performance appraisal process. Also compare Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scale and MBO as methods of performance appraisal.Answer: A performance appraisal compares each employee‘s actual performancewith his or her performance standards. It requires knowledge of thejob‘s duties and standards. Behavioral Anchored Rating scale is an appraisal performance process that rates performance factors instead of personality factors. It also measures past performance and not the present and does note motivate people. Management By Objective (MBO) is an appraisal performance process that creates empowered employees who have clarity of the roles and responsibilities expected from them, understand their objectives to be achieved and thus help in the achievement of organizational as well as personal goals. It focuses on the future rather than the past involving employees in the whole process of goal setting and increasing employee empowerment, employee job satisfaction and commitment.Q3.
