Journalism 311 News Release - 5 W’s Who : American Association of University Women / Women’s Studies Department of Dolphin Beach State University in Dolphin Beach What : One-day conference; “How to Prevent Crimes Against Women on College Campuses” Where : West Ballroom of the Sheraton Motor Inn, 800 Wildfire Road, Dolphin Beach When : Wednesday, December 5, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Why : Robbery and carjackings up 15 percent from last year, three rapes last year, and an assault last week How : Interested students come to listen and/or participate in conference including speeches from four different speakers So What : Important for students to know the severity of the matter and what they can do to help themselves and their campus. More preventive efforts need to be made Now What : Dolphin Beach State University will hopefully prioritize their budget to incorporate more assault prevention efforts on campus. Also, students may take what they learn from the conference and apply it to their, now safer, everyday lives.
