REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM 2 The Male and Female Reproductive System Studying the male and female reproductive system makes for a real learning experience on how the different parts of the body works together. For the most part the male and female body has similar functions but the body reacts differently. The reproductive organs develop from similar embryonic tissue, meaning they are homologous. Both systems have gonads that produce gametes and sex organs. They both experience maturation of their organs, which become functional during puberty. There are a lot of helpful information that I have found from studying the male and female reproductive system. The most helpful information that I found is that breast cancer can occur in men, how the menstrual cycle of the female works, and the diseases of the reproductive system. This was a real surprise to me because I never knew that men could get breast cancer or even had breast tissue. A father can pass cancer to his children and
