Defining Success Journal Entry
Step 1:
I would be completely satisfied if I was certain I dedicated my life to benefitting others. I
have always known that I wanted to help those who need it most, specifically with my career. I
made the decision to become a teacher for underprivileged schools a few months before
graduating. Being properly trained to educate the children who feel like school is trivial or that
they are insufficient is my ultimate goal for college. The kind of person I am and become is my
defining factor of success. I yearn to be known as a safe and comforting presence in the lives I
encounter, not only my future students, but those in my personal life as well.
Step 2:
 Demonstrate critical thinking and critical reading strategies. - 4
 Use a writing process to produce writing. - 5
 Write complete and clear sentences that are grammatically correct according to standard
written English. - 5


