Second Lab Report guidelines 1. Format: 1-inch margins, Times New Roman, font 12, double-spaced 2. 3- to 5-page limit for text only (drawings, pictures, tables, or graphs, and Reference page do not count toward that limit) 3. Number the pages! 4. The title of your paper should be specific and concise (do not write “Lab report #2” or “Plant hormones”). 5. Introduction : a. Start by talking about plant hormones in general and then concentrate on the ones whose function you tested. b. You may include some figures (you don’t have to, but if you do, then do not forget to put (Figure 1) or “as seen in Fig. 1” in the text after you mention them!) c. State the hypothesis and predictions in the last paragraph d. Don’t forget to cite throughout the text – (author, year), for example: (Campbell and Reece, 2005) e. Written in present tense (hypothesis in future tense, and if mentioning previously found data use past tense) 6. Materials and Methods : written in past tense and paragraph form (do not use bullet points)
