The different sources used show different aspects of the role of women, how they were treated, and the consequences that followed. The sources trace the changes in outlook of scholarly articles with time. The constrictive nature, as well as male dominance is a recurrent theme throughout the annotated bibliography, giving an insight into how the role of the woman changed from what societal norms had set to the ‘new woman’.
