Personality Theries \what is personality like? o Inherently good or not o What shapes behavior o Is development continuous or discontinues. Prof will argue that development is more continuous then it is dicontunuious. o Stability or change Are our personality stable or do that change quite a bit They do change that they change more then we think they do. o Is anything internal? If so what Schema’s Conflicts stuff like that. o What model of intervention follow sfomr you thinking about personality? (in orhter words, what dies therapy do? Change the environment? Resolve internal conflict? Change someone’s thinking?) Psychoanalysis o Classical psychodynamic o Sigmund Freud o Behavior is the result of unconscious conflicts Thins that are unconscious cannot be brought into consciouness Slips of the tongue/dreams. Freudian slip. Saying things that you want to happen. Life/death instincts
