Conflict in the WorkplaceThe nursing profession encounters several workplace disputes as a consequence of a variety of circumstances,including lack of trust, racism, excessive workloads and stress, jurisdictional concerns, and inadequateleadership. Additionally, some of these confrontations are the consequence of many sources of stress, includingdeteriorating interpersonal relationships, the complexity of the patient population, and an unhealthy workenvironment (Kennison, 2019). In the absence of proper tools to address disruptive and uncivil conduct,workplace bullying, racial prejudice, and even actual assault may occur. Thus, nurses and others should have apreferred mechanism for resolving disagreements that arise in healthcare environments in order to maximizecare delivery efficiency. This essay will discuss my interaction with a dispute scenario at work and mytechniques for resolving the issue.Description of the Situation and ConflictOne of my coworkers, a Black American nurse at my place of employment, reported an instance of workplacediscrimination. The incident occurred before to the institution's election period for nurse leaders. The institutioninvites competent nurses to compete for team leadership positions throughout this time period. According to thenurse, several coworkers openly disparaged him for pursuing a position as a nurse leader. His coworkers wereantagonistic toward him since he applied for the employment as an African American. They gave him scarytitles such as ape and idiot offspring. Additionally, they said that the individual was incompetent to manage thesquad owing to his skin tone and prior experiences. Nonetheless, the nurse won the electoral fight. The opposingfaction was enraged. They refused to accept the reality that the squad was led by an African American. Theyconsistently disobeyed his directives, evaded key appointments, and made disparaging remarks about his looks.For the nurse, it was a hopeless scenario. I felt terrible for him and offered to mediate their conflict.I employed a variety of strategies to resolve the disagreement.In nursing practice, conflict resolution is a critical skill.
