Reaction to Internal/External Attributions “We won” or “they lost” is how most people will respond when asked how their favorite team fared. People tend to congratulate themselves for their successes, while they find things to blame when they fail. When a team wins, people like to associate themselves with the team but when they lose, they don’t connect themselves to the team in anyway. When something happens to anyone, the person will put an attribution, an explanation for the cause of that event, to what happened. When they consider the event an internal attribution, they believe that the thing happened because of something they did. When they consider the event an external attribution, they believe it happened because of a situation outside of their control. For example, a student does well on a test. He will either believe this was because of his hard work (an example of internal attribution) or he will believe this was because of complete luck (external attribution).

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
