Unformatted text preview: Daddys Girl Melissa Fuller Dr. Martin EN102 C March 31, 2008 Sylvia Plath was born on October 27, 1932 in Massachusetts. She was married to the poet Ted Hughes. In her poem Daddy , many daddies appear throughout the poem. She talks about the relationship she had with both her father and her husband, she also talks about Adolf Hitler, the devil, and men in general. In the following essay, I will discuss the three important daddies in her poem which are her father, her husband and Adolf Hitler. The first Daddy that appears in her poem is her father. The whole first stanza is the memory that she has of her father, who died when she was eight. She also talks about the difficulty she had talking with her father. Her father was German and Sylvia had trouble picking up the German language which made it difficult for her to communicate with him and is the reason for their other difficulties (http://members.tripod.com/lexy3433/id11_m.htm).
