Executive Summary Alibaba is one of the fastest growing holding companies in the world. The Chinese based conglomerate includes Alibaba.com. Taobao. Tmall.com, Juhuasuan, eTao,Alipay,AliExpress, China Yahoo!, Aliwangwang. Founded by tech entreprenuer Jack Ma in 1999, Ali Baba has seen enormous growth in the past 15 years. Guided by the principals of “aiming to build the future infrastructure of e-commerce,” Jack Ma has helped create a marketplace unrivaled by most. Alibaba’s vertical integration strategy has allowed them to capture value across all steps of B2B, C2C and B2P online selling across global markets. With a focus on connecting China with international secondary markets, Ma has effectively created a global portal connecting Chinese wholesalers with foreign buyers. Today the company boasts over 300 million active users across its various entities. With that, we have analyzed all major aspects of Alibaba’s strategy and have formed recommendations based upon them. This analysis will show why Alibaba should continue to focus heavily on the Chinese market while also expending into a business to consumer format in the United States.
