It is in our natural human tendencies that we have craved the feel and touch to sexually arouse us. Many factors play a role in this and they differ from person to person, whereas, some individuals prefer more attention than others to get to the point to be considered sexually aroused and to be fully satisfied at the end of the partners sexual activities. In the biological aspect of a person’s sexual response, it involves many factors. In the body, male or female, we release specific hormones; in males their testosterone hormone is much higher in their younger years and will decrease over time and with age and in certain circumstances can possibly cause problems, as well as other factors such as, drugs, alcohol, and aphrodisiacs (Greenberg, Bruess, & Oswalt, 2014). In the case of drugs or alcohol, depending on the amount and what type of drug was taken or how much alcohol was consumed, can temporarily decrease the ability to be sexually aroused, for example a man not being able to become or stay erect. Other possibilities that can make arousal more difficult for an individual to nearly impossible are: physical disabilities a person may have, injuries past or present, or if one suffers from an illness (Greenberg, Bruess, & Oswalt, 2014).
