-1Justin Rodriguez English 101 April 7 th , 2008 A Pen By The Phone A pen by the phone by Debra Anne Davis describes her relationship with her father and a huge pet peeve. She describes her father as someone who could get so lost in a book that he is unaware of his surroundings. When he is reading its almost as though life stops for a moment and nothing matters but him and his book. He is described as a science and current event lover. While drowning himself in a book Debra could do as much as play with his hair and such things and he would never realize it. However there was one thing he asked for and that was a pen by the phone.
