While the media does influence us individually, it also attempts to change societies and communities as well. For years the media has been eliciting broad change through children television shows, movies, songs and commercials. Sometimes it’s intended or unintended, positive or negative, whatever the case, it occurs. An article recently published in Buzzsaw featured an interview with Viktor Mayer-Schoenberger, an associate professor of public policy at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. This article is a prime example of a media attempting to elicit broad change into our society. The article is about computing systems in which everything from Google searches to credit card numbers is digitally stored forever, the dangers of it and the changes that need to be made in our society. The article’s attempt to make change is intended and positive. The article attempted to elicit broad change in a few ways.
