Online learning does not just happen itrequires careful planning and implementation.Although Online learning makes earning aneducation much more reachable, it has its shortcomings. When one thinks of online learning, youthink of independent learners.For the young children, Online Learning has proven to be atroublesome thing.Some of the issues that hinders online learning success where children areconcerned is their short attention span, level of readiness, distractions at home, internet issuesand lack of gadgets.Research has shown that face to face interaction is much more effective inthe learning process of children.Teacher- student interaction in a face-to-face setting isincomparable to online learning sessions.Online learning is good and has its advantages, but itis not the best mode of learning for students from Grades K to 12.The Attention Span of Students from Grades K to 12 is noticeably shortIn a usual school setting it takes a lot of different teaching strategies and effort to keepchildren interested in a regular class lesson.Children are fidgety and at the end of every lessonand even during a regular teaching period they are always busy to take a break.They getdistracted by their classmates which interferes with learning but with the teacher being present toget the students back on track, learning does take place.Online learning due to the pandemic(Covid-19) has stretched the regular school hours.Having six school aged children at home, Ihave a first hand experience where the school day starts at 8am and usually ends at 10pmbecause of numerous assignments needed to complete and this can be very frustrating for boththe student and the parent.One of the distractions to receiving an education at home is that thestudents sometimes have no control of the distractions that surround them.“Virtual classroomsnot an ideal learning environment for school children” Chunduru 2020 exclaims, that online
