Our High Seas Adventure Rocking Horse Winner Presents seemingly true information, which is actually fiction They probably did not test the tsunami sirens in Oregon that day. When the earthquake really did hit off the coast of California, the national weather service found that a lot of the warnings set in place up and down the coast didn’t work. The horses in the races are made up, they were not real race horses. Introduces few characters The story only introduces the narrator and their family, and a handful of people they interact with during this incident. There are not a lot of characters in the story. It introduces the boy, his family including the uncle that goes with him to the races, and a people that work in the household and on betting on the races. Covers a short time period “At a little after 8:00 pm of June 14, 2005...” “A tsunami is coming, we have 30 minutes.” “Reaching our car about 9:45 pm...” The story takes place within a few hours.
