Introduction: Chemical equilibrium is the state in which the chemical activities or concentrations of the reactants and products have no net change over time. Usually, this state results when the forward chemical process proceeds at the same rate as their reverse reaction. Since it is a common seen status, identifying factors which could affect chemical equilibrium appears essential. In this experiment, Le Chatelier’s Role was examined and the basic thermodynamics was determined. the phenomena was observed after various substances were added to an equilibrium mixture; related chemistry were needed to be described; all the things happened in the system are expained in the result part. Following equations were used: (1) Fe 3+ (aq) + NCS - (aq) FeNCS 2+ (aq) (2) 2Fe 3+ (aq) + Sn 2+ (aq) = 2Fe 2+ (aq) + Sn 4+ (aq) (3) Ag + (aq)+ NCS - (aq)= AgNCS (s) (4) HPO 4 2- (aq) + H 2 O(l) H 2 PO 4 - (aq) + OH - (aq) (5) NH 3 ·H 2 O(l) NH 4 + (aq) + OH - (aq) (6) Fe 3+ (aq) + OH - (aq) = Fe(OH) 3 (s) Experimental: Materials n Equipment Quantity Flask and Cylinder As Needed 2

Tubes As Needed Tissues As Needed Bunsen Burner 1 Material Amount Fe(NO 3 ) 3 (aq) (1M) As Needed NH 4 NCS (aq) (1M) As Needed SnCl 2 (aq) (0.10 1M) As Needed AgNO 3 (aq) (0.1M) As Needed Na 2 HPO 4 (aq) (1M) As Needed NH 3 ·H 2 O (aq) (1M) As Needed DI Water As Needed Ice As Needed Procedure Firstly, a flask with approximate 100 ml water was prepared. 8 drops from Fe(NO 3 ) 3 and 8 drops from NH 4 NCS were put into the flask respectively. After the solution was mixed well, it was placed in 8 tubes (5ml each), labeled from 1 to 8. Secondly, for the first 6 tubes, different reagents were placed as following order: #1- Fe(NO 3 ) 3 , #2 - NH 4 NCS, #3 - SnCl 2 , #4 - AgNO 3 , #5 - Na 2 HPO 4 , and #6 - NH 3 ·H 2 O (10 drops for each). The phenomena was observed and recorded properly in the result part. At the same time, a bunsen buner was used to prepare hot water bath, and ice was already offered by the lab for cold water bath.The last two tubes were then placed in hot water (#7) and cold water (#8).
