moral law, it can help the parties involved in making logical and fair decisions that willalign the risk and benefit of the medical solution to the best interests of the patient. What are the speaker’s arguments about the following topics?EuthanasiaUnfortunately, there are people in terrible medical situations who suffer pain. They're in agony, they're struggling, and their quality of life has deteriorated tothe point where it's no longer acceptable. Mercy killing is what some of us knowabout the word euthanasia or the act of ending a patient's life in order to mitigatetheir suffering. The patient in concern would most likely be terminally sick or inextreme agony. A few might be comparing it to assisted suicide and mistakenlythink that they are similar but these two actually had a different interpretation.According tomedicalnewstoday.com, euthanasia is where a doctor is legallypermitted to end a person's life in a painless manner if the patient and their familyconsent, while assisted suicide is where a patient request for a doctor to assistthem in committing suicide by prescribing drugs/medicines. The practice ofeuthanasia is one of the subjects/topics that had everyone struggling to debatewhether to be legal or not through the years. Being a heated topic and a subjectof controversy in the human rights community, it should be discussed a lot sinceit covers ethical and legal concerns involving patients and healthcareprofessionals, human health, spiritual, religious, psychological, social, andcultural issues. That is why, as Dr. Manalo (2020) stated, as per the popes, doctors should be encouraged in taking up specialization with regards topalliative care. Since the idea of euthanasia is toEliminate the Sufferer, toEliminate the Suffering, this kind of concept should not be the main reason whypeople who are in death’s door to be stimulated by this statement to carry on withthe said practice. Instead, in palliative care, they apply the statement ofEliminateSuffering, Not the Sufferer,in which they would not have to end someone’s lifefor them to be pain-free. And by bringing this palliative care up in the public’s eyewould reduce the number of requests for euthanasia. However, we can say thatthe implementation of euthanasia isn’t that unethical. Based on what Dr. Manalo
had said,
