Deena Malkis RR #2 Bolles, First part of Chapter 13. This week there were many great readings, however, once again, I choose to write about the Bolles book, What Color is your Parachute. The chapter assigned this week had to do with how to go about finding the right job for yourself by truly defining who you are, and what characteristics define you. This reading taught me that you need to look deep within yourself to see who you truly are. Many times defining yourself isn’t as easy as it seems. One of the exercises that this chapter asked the reader to complete was to write down on ten sheets of paper “Who am I?” Completing this exercise proved harder than I had originally anticipated. I thought I knew who I was, but trying to come up with ten different adjectives to describe myself was actually quite difficult. The second part of this task was to expand upon these ten qualities. I totally agree with the chapters main point, being, that in order to see what you should be doing with your life, you need to see who you truly are, from deep within. This will show you what you value most. I truly believe that these values should be present in the career field that you go into, because that will make you happy. All the information that I learned in this section will be enormously helpful in the future. The information learned will not only be practical in finding the best career field for you, but also for total peace of mind. I truly believe that to be at peace with yourself, you need to know who you are, which is not always clear. By completing the exercises in this chapter I became one step closer to finding what direction my life should take in order for me to be truly happy....
