This rivalry of some sense began over 200 years ago, when the delegates met to ‘amend’the Articles of Confederation. During that convention the idea of coming up with a completelynew government was brought up. Since then 2 sides were formed. The Federalists- those whosupported that idea, and the Anti-Federalists- those who disagreed with that idea. Together theyhave had many disagreements over certain aspects of the Constitution, and whether or not theConstitution should be ratified. The Anti-Federalists even went as far as to create a new clausebecause they didn’t believe the Constitution was enough, the Federalists obviously did not agreewith this idea.
