Jane lives with the Reed family because of her mothers charity. John, Jane’s cousin is always bullying her. Jane was punished for fighting with her cousin. As her punishment, she was locked up in a room called the red-room. That was the room her Uncle died in. When Jane is in that room, she started to think about how she ended up living with her Aunt. Jane is overwhelmed with emotion in that room. She is a young girl whose parents died and she is neglected by her new family. When she was alone she was scared, lonely, and anxious. When she saw her Uncle’s ghost, she became overwhelmed with anxiety and started to scream. There was no one to comfort her. She was scared and felt helpless and all alone.
