Christa Palazzo Jan. 28, 2008 Assignment 1: Case Brief One Citation: The names of the parties in this case are State and Pyron. Pyron is the appellant or the defendant, in the State Supreme Court and the plaintiff is the State. This case brief can be found in Connecticut. The reporter volume is 244 on page 145. The decision for this case was in 1975. you can leave this out next time. Issues: The issue in this case is about the life of a firefighter. On his way to put out a fire, the firefighter fell off the back of the fire truck. After his fall he was run over by a woman following the truck. The woman is being charged for murder of the fireman. This should always be a question—can phyron be charged with fm for the death of a firefighter when the ff was killed en route to the fire set by phyron and the ff fell off the truck and was hit by a speeding car following too closely? Legally Relevant Facts : A fire was set to unoccupieda building by the appellant. and eventually was burnt to the ground in no less than thirty minutes. The woman driver of the vehicle was following the fire truck too closely and therefore couldn’t avoid running over the fireman. Procedural Facts
