Mike Rosenbloom Writing for the Media Professor Seymour 2-7-08 “Romney Exits, Saying He Has to ‘Stand Aside for Our Party 1. How well written is the lead? I thought the lead was written very well. It’s very interesting and right away makes the reader want to continue reading. It tells us the meat of the story right off the top, but it doesn’t give us reasons. It tells us that Romney dropped out of the campaign. When you are done reading the first paragraph, you sit there and wonder, why? That introduction catches the reader’s attention and makes us want to continue on. The lead is also written well because it explains right away who Mitt Romney is, in case the reader didn’t know. It tells us where he came from, what he was running for, and why he was running. The first paragraph alone makes this article that much better. 2. How well written is the entire piece? Again, I thought the entire piece was a very well written, thought through story. Like I said above, the introduction definitely catches the reader’s attention, but once you start
