IT PROJECT 1: PROPOSAL Name : Altayeb Mohamed Altayeb Mohamed Matric no. : 122909517 Programme : BITNT Academic Advisor : Hasliza Binti Hashim IT Project Supervisor (if any) : Valeriano A. Dasalla Title: Performance Evaluation of MPLS and Frame-Relay using OPNET Modeler Abstract: MPLS technique is one of the new technologies, which direct data between networks form node to the next depending on short path label. It is now progressing very quickly to be the number one technology for connecting networks of service providers around the world. In this research, we will be conducting a comparison between MPLS and Frame-Relay and compare the results between the musing OPNET by using video conferencing and voice as a traffic load generators for the network.

Unformatted text preview: MPLS have become more interested to study and prepare to change the infrastructure. Most of the researches on the MPLS and Frame-Relay performance evaluation have not evaluated: 1- Delay. 2-Packet loss. 3-Throughput. Therefore, this project will be on performance comparison between Frame Relay and MPLS using OPNET Modeler with those three performance measuring parameters. Objectives 1-Implement the MPLS and the Frame-Relay in OPNET Modeler 2-Evaluate the Frame Relay and MPLS technologies with the three measuring parameters: Delay, Packet loss and Throughput using video conferencing and voice as a traffic load generators for the network. . 3-Compare and analyze the result of the performance evaluation....

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
