As more people had education the fight for power began to shift away from solely longstanding elites towards intellectuals as well as common middle class people. The oil industry was greatly affected by this. WWII brought struggles with Britain and the USSR to maintain the control they had of Iran’s oil, however towards the end of the war a plea for national control of oil emerged and in some ways succeeded. Iran has a hard past that has been filled with tragedies, political unrest, and great amounts of change.
