A Zumba class-known as a Zumba Fitness Party combine fastand slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body using an aerobic/fitness approach toachieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits.2.Origin/History of Zumba DanceZumba was created and started in 2001 and since then the Zumba program has grown tobecome the world’s largest and most successful dance fitness program.3.Types of classesZumba Goldis a low impact, lower-intensity version of a typical Zumba class.Zumba Stepis a lower-body workout that incorporates Zumba routines and step aerobicswith Latin dance rhythms.Zumba Toningis for people who do their workouts with toning sticks. It targets the abs,thighs, arms, and other muscles throughout the body. This type of Zumba class providesparticipants with a cardio workout and strength training.Aqua Zumbaclasses are held in a swimming pool. The instructor leads the classpoolside while participants follow in shallow water. Moves have been specially adaptedto combine the same dance movements used in a Zumba Fitness class with those used inaqua fitness classes.Zumba in the Circuitcombines dance withcircuit training.
