Introduction to English 101/107 PortfoliosEnglish 101/107 is a portfolio-based class. In practice, this means instead of a final exam, you’ll be askedto collect, revise, and present work that you have produced throughout this semester. Part of presentingthat work will require that you write a reflective essay that explains the choices you made throughout theprocess of writing, revising, collecting and selecting.Your final portfolio will consist of the following elements:1.Revisions to any of the first three major assignments. Although you will already have received agrade on your previous writing projects, you still have the opportunity to continue to revise one of them,taking into account what you have learned throughout the course and through the feedback you havereceived. You may make as many revisions as you like, as we will discuss later in the semester.2.A reflective essayexplaining the choices you made in your redesign and also explaining what you havelearned throughout the semester. This reflective essay will be based on the course learning outcomes andkey concepts (more on that below).3.Additional workthat you’ve written during the semester that supports what you have to say in thereflective essay and/or demonstrates your learning.
