Course Descrip2on The course is based on four aspects of learning 1.  prepara2on: for the introduc6on of new material. Reading of textbook material and memorizaton of vocabulary. 2.  presenta2on: explana6on of new material in class. Don’t hesitate to ask ques6ons! 3.  prac2ce: sample in class exercises on new material to familiarize you with new material in context. 4.  produc2on: assignment of homework exercises on new material and correc6on of exercises. Have you understood/memorized the forms and structures? •  Course Evalua2on when a language is regular tes2ng is a must being learned as an academic subject rather than a method of real communica6on •  tes6ng mo6vates you to prepare for class, memorize and to review on a regular basis, which is a must! •  tes6ng can help you go further with your understanding of how the language works, to put it all together and approach a passage as a coherent and meaningful text. Tes2ng includes •  quizzes on one chapter, held every second Monday, include concepts, grammar and syntax (full period quiz) •  vocab quizzes, held on the preceding Friday, short quizzes on the vocab assigned for one chapter, given at the start of class (10 minutes) •  La2n transla2on (homework) •  no midterm exam in this course •  transla2on passage, assigned over Christmas •  review test on en2re first semester, held in the first week of the second semester. •  tes6ng in the second semester is similar to that of the first, but also includes a 10% ‘final’ in class exam at the end of the winter semester.
