Who controls the production of knowledge and thus our construction of the world? (i.e. education, media) 2. Marginalization of alternative voices 3. Popular culture as consumer culture and its impact on traditional culture. (ex. Taylor’s Three Maladies) a. Can states keep the world out? Should they? 3. Is one universal culture a good idea? The enlightenment goal. 4. Civil wars- ethnic cleansing- genocide 5. Racism, ethnocentrism, intolerance 6. Must we be tolerant of those who are intolerant against us? 7.
