Module 1|Chapter 1: An Introduction to the Study of Language1Course DescriptionThis course exhibits students learning about the sub-disciplines oflinguistics (language sounds, how sounds interact, how words and sentences arebuilt, meaning and how we use meaning in conversation); students learn abouthow and why we learn language and where language is in the brain; learn aboutlanguage birth, death, and diversity; teaches students about how technology (likeartificial intelligence social media) shapes language – and vice versa and willrealize about language endangerment, revitalization, and the ‘ethnosphere’ –including the languages around usLearning OutcomesBy the end of this course the pre service students are expected to:1.Ability to understand and articulate general issues concerning nature &function of language.
