HW Set 9 p 1 of 3 Homework Set 9 1. (a) Neatly draw the waveform for one frame of asynchronous serial data. The data Byte is 1011 0101. Be sure to include the Start and Stop bits, and include a parity bit that provides odd parity over the nine bits (data plus parity). You need not draw the clock signal. (b) The asynchronous serial data frame shown includes an odd parity bit. Determine the Byte of data being sent. 2. (a) Determine the time needed to send one Byte of data in asynchronous serial format, with no parity bit. The data rate is 9600 bits/second. (b) Determine the time needed to send 256 KBytes of data (1K = 1024). Each Byte does not add a parity bit, but remember to include Start and Stop bits for each Byte. Assume that there is no idle time between consecutive Bytes; i.e., each Start Bit immediately follows the previous Stop Bit. 3. Shown are two D flip-flops and a logic gate arranged to detect a falling edge of the keyboard clock. Neatly complete the timing diagram to show the waveforms for Q1, Q2 and NegEdge.
