Week 6 AssignmentHist-2005-2, World History: 1900-1945In the 1930's there were a slew of problems that just mixed the perfect ingredients for a leader to arise and lead the world into another war. In 1929 as the Great Depression is setting in everyone was across the globe was hurting, the majority of the global people were barely making it from week to week. This set the stage for a person to step up, make promises and gain a powerful seat. (Chapter 16, Pg.228). In 1933 Hitler became Chancellor of Germany, after gaining such a seat he wasted no time tightening his grip for absolute power. He convinced Hindenburg to sign an emergency decree that indefinitely suspended the basic liberties and the due process ofthe law. (Chapter 16, Pg. 229). Hitler also gained legislative power which allowed him tosuspend parts of the Weimar constitution and in the same year he was able to outlaw allpolitical parties except the Nazis.
