The media is extremely important because it is the only source of information about politics for the general public. The public relies on media sources such as television, newspapers, and radio for information about politicians, important issues, war coverage, and the general state of our nation. The media helps voters make intelligent choices about the candidates competing for their votes. The media has a great influence on how Americans think of their government. People are sometimes afraid that the media is a danger to U.S. politics. The media can often have display bias, as most major news companies are privately owned and have their own agenda. The media often chooses to cover exciting/disturbing news over the most relevant news because Americans want to be entertained. This can have a negative effect on how Americans view politics....
