China is going through a civil war with communist, 1933-34 Chiang Kaishek (government), Mao Zedong (communist) Deal will be cut between the nationalist and the government, Japanese are invading the country, put civil war on hold and both sides fight the Japanese. STARTS: outside the city of Beijing, shooting between the two sides, between Jap/Chinese. Mid Aug 1937; Japanese control Beijing. Also begin to besiege Shanghai (falls in 7 weeks) DEC 1937; Japanese army captures Nanking
