Sports Marketing Takes on 2 Major Forms - Defined as specific application of marketing principles and processes to sport  products. ex. teams, leagues, players, events, etc. - The marketing of non-sports products through interactive associations with  sport ex. Gatorade, Vitamin Water -International Management Group - Mark McCormick  IMG was pioneer of sports marketing firms. -Bob Wolf (what Jerry Maguire was based on) Several were started throughout '70s and '80s Marketing Arm turned into event production, agencies, etc. now there are full service sports marketing firms.  1984 Summer Olympic games Los Angeles only city that made pitch for olympic games tremendous amount of foreign policy, olympics became more of a difficult and expensive endeavor cities shied away from hosting it.  Started to envision tremendous problems hired Peter Ueberroth, senior executive, future baseball commissioner
