1 Sandy Shores Time Shares Sandy Shores Time Shares is one of the largest time-sharing and rental brokers for vacation cottages along the North Carolina coast. After 10 successful years of matching up owners and renters, Sandy Shores decided to acquire a computerized reservation and booking system. Tim Burns, the owner of Sandy Shores, read an article about software packages, and he asked you, as an IT consultant, for your advice. Tasks 1. Would the new reservation and booking system be a horizontal or a vertical application? Explain your answer. //andy I believe that the new reservation and booking system for Sandy Shores Time Shares should be a horizontal application, it would be a lot easier to consider a wide range of end users to interface with a larger business, while a vertical application would be best for a small organization. 2. What software development and acquisition strategies should Sandy Shores consider? //andy Sandy Shores Time Shares should strongly consider the waterfall model for the development of software, because it is believed to be a classic model for development. As for acquisition strategies, general methodology would be the best way to go. 3. Conduct an Internet search for online reservation systems, software, and services that Sandy Shores might consider. Describe your findings. //andy{ ZIZO Advance, is an online booking system. Sandy Shores should consider ZIZO to use this system, they can use ZIZO on their own website for customers to book reservations at any time, they already have an established customer base and they will list Sandy Shores on their own marketplace.
