Welch 1 Scott Welch Mr. Stafford English 1301 08 August 2002 A Woman’s Right, or Murder Perhaps the most debated topic of the twentieth century is the rights that a woman has to consider abortion for an alternative to childbirth. The two sides of this debate are known as Pro- life and Pro-choice. Both sides present very strong arguments, however, the Pro-choice debater’s provide much stronger justifications as well as present more assertive arguments. Pro-choice advocates debate on three major issues concerning abortion which include, the consequences of taking away a woman’s right to choose, it is the woman’s body therefore her choice, and the laws of America have not made it illegal. There are many negative consequences of taking away a woman’s right to choose whether or not an abortion provides the best solution to their situation. No matter how much society may want a pregnant woman to give birth and care for the baby it will not happen. A woman that decides to have an abortion has many good reasons for doing so. When forced to have the baby, a lot of negative responses develop in a woman. A baby that is born to an un-
