Assessment techniques used in the presentation
1. Inspection- this technique involves using naked eyes to examine the patient's body
surface. The observation is deliberate and purposeful, and systematic. In this presentation,
the colour, swelling is identified. The features are visible using naked eyes; colour and
swelling can be seen from the size.
2. Palpation – technique uses the sense of touch. In this case, the scrotal sac is tender in
touch, and edematous can also be identified through a sense of touch.
Another diagnostic testing
Ultrasound may be used to identify internal that may not be visible. Also, imaging can be used
for better examination of the scrotum. Urinalysis can be carried out as a test to trace bacteria in
urines.
Differential diagnosis
Hydrocele, hernia, varicocele, injury, tumour, testicular, cyst, epididymitis, hematocele, orchitis,
testicular torsion, spermatocele, testicular cancer.
