Within Mahayana Buddhism, there is a school of thought known as Madhyamaka Buddhism. This is the tradition of the Bodhicharyavatara o The Bodhicharyavatara is a handbook for becoming a bodhisattva, an enlightenment being. o Written by Shantideva Shantideva is born around the 8th century CE. The Bodhicaryavatara is Shantideva's last teaching before he ascends into the sky with Manjushri.
