Critical Thinking Scenario Analysis
When Sally tries to advocate for her customers, she is shut down by her manager with a
personal attack. Sally does not let this stop her. She continues to advocate for her customers all
the way to the top of the management ladder. She is finally successful in obtaining an extension
for the warranty on the company’s printers.
Elements of Critical Thinking
The barriers to critical thinking that were apparent in this scenario are anger and
ignorance. The anger barrier was shown through Sally being agitated. The ignorance barrier was
shown through Sally not knowing enough about what her coworkers were discussing. I do
believe Sally possesses characteristics of a good critical thinker. Sally handled her agitation by
deciding to relax by going out with her coworkers. She handled her ignorance of the topic that
was discussed by deciding not to involve herself in the argument.
