WHAT IS A GANG & HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM A FRATERNITY?
The Term “Gang” DefinedThe term “Gang” has many definitions, but one that stands out and is a considerably more relatable extinction, is described as being an organized group of criminals. This definition in my opinion is best suitable for the term, because it relates directly to congregation of criminals and how they organize crime. Upon researching the word gang on Office of Justice Programs site, they too felt as though there was no universal definition for it.The word gang in itself is widely related to a number of things, such as gang ties, youth gang, street gang and they are often interchangeably used in mainstream coverage. The overall reference to gangs, often implies youth gangs, and in some many cases, these gangs are distinguished from other types of gangs, which in all, have their own set of definitions as well.
