World History I (HIST 1010) Study Guide for the Second Exam Fall Semester 2007 Dr. Morris Bian I. I will test your knowledge of facts as well as your understanding of IDEAS, ARGUMENTS, and INTERPRETATIONS. Consequently, you need to study not only the terms listed on this study guide but also the ideas, arguments, and interpretations presented in the lectures. A firm grasp of the lecture material is CRUCIAL for a solid performance. As the syllabus indicates, the second exam will take place on Wednesday, October 10, during the regular class hour. II. So far as the book questions are concerned, you should be thoroughly familiar with the who, what, when, where, and why of Thomas Aquinas’s life. Who was he? What did he do? What was the basic fact about his life? What were his major religious, intellectual, and theological activities? When and where did these activities take place? What were his achievements and contributions? Why was he historically significant? III.
