History Two Exam Three 4-2-08 Nonintervention -FDR was elected president in 1932 -His new deal strategy centered on federal regulation of the economy and industry -Foreign Policy was centered on policy of nonintervention -People said that preparation for war brings war -Desire for peace and lack of preparation would be bad for them -March 1936 Germany took back the Rhineland while Britain and France did nothing -April 1936 Italian conquered Ethiopia, then came the Raping of Nanking -1936 Spain erupted in Civil War -Gave Hitler and Mussolini a chance to send troops there -Francisco Franco would all with them Age of Appeasement -The events that lead to war in Europe unfolded fast -1936 hitler bullied Austria into accepting Anschlus(Annexation) -September 29 1938 British Prime Minister Chamberlain signs the Munich Pact with Hitler -Give him land, but wanted him to promise to stop wanting more -1939 Hitler takes all of Czechoslovakia -August 1939 Hitler and Stalin sign the Nazi-Soviet Non-aggression Treaty
