PurposeDETERMINE THE RATE OF REACTION BY USING IODINE CLOCK Material0.010M Potassium Persulfate (K2S2O8)0.010M Sodium Thiosulfate (Na2S2O3)0.500M Potassium Iodine (KI)Starch SolutionTest Tube (x2 or 3) Beaker (250mL or 400mL) Burette Graduated Cylinder (if possible) Thermometer (0oC -100oC) Test Tube Holder (x2) Safety Glasses Test Tube StandHeat Plate Procedurei) 1. Add 10.00mL of 0.100M Potassium Persulfate (aq) to a test tube using a burette, and labeled this test tube as #1. 2. To a second test tube, add 5.00mL of Sodium Thiosulfate and 5.00mL Potassium Iodine by using other designated burettes, and labeled as #2. 3. Again to the second test tube add 2.00mL of Starch Solution. ii)1. Set up a warm bath as shown. 2. Monitor the temperature in the two test tubes using the thermometer. 3. For trial #1, a temperature of 25oC is optimum.
