Rayte’a Long Journal Entry #3 Section 1 As we talked about in class, EEO guidelines are extremely important while going through the job interviewing process. There are questions that employers are not allowed to ask, for reasons pertaining to discrimination. I have not experienced a violation of these guidelines in person, but I have read articles and heard personal accounts of people who have experienced a violation of their rights. Recently, my friend was demanded to neglect her Sunday church services for work because she needed to fill time slots. As we talked about in class, the actions of her employer were wrong. In the future, knowing what I know now, I will not allow an employer to ask any question against my rights, or try to constrain my religious life to a certain schedule. In class, we also talked about sexual harassment cases. Sexual harassment is any action of a sexual nature making someone feel uncomfortable. From my personal lens, sexual harassment occurs quite often. I have witness peers discuss things that have happened in the workplace, but voiced how unfortunate it would be to report it. There was a threat of being “black listed” by the office if so, so it was better to go about their business. In the future, I will not allow anyone to make me feel uncomfortable.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
