Neal Johnson P. Dibley Dialogue I Wednesday, May 13, 2009 What does it mean to be human? Humans were the last of the creatures God created. I believe that all people are created in His own image. This is the most significant thing that separates human from all other creation. Being created in God’s own image gives humans the responsibility of ruling over all the rest of his creation. Humans have the responsibility of being stewards of this earth. This means that we have to care for it, and do what is necessary for it to continue being. As stewards we are to use the earth to support our needs. We farm the ground to produce food. The trees in the forest are used to build houses to live in. The lakes are purified for drinking water, and cattle are gathered to be eaten. Being stewards doesn't only mean that we take away from the earth. Humans also need to be wise when using the resources the land gives us. If you plant corn season after season, the soil will have no nutrients anymore and nothing will be able to grow. Its humans responsibility
