Hello Professor Hogan and Class,How did Rae’s discussion of Christian ethics change or affirm your previous conception of Christianethics?I believe that as I analyzed Rae’s discussion about Christian ethics, it indeed helped me affirm myconception of Christian ethics. For example, I can see that Christian ethics starts out with God’s verynature as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and is perfectly good and just. Moreover, I can see thateverything He does is good essentially; it could not have been otherwise. Therefore, when it comes tonormative ethical theory, and Christian ethics is broadly speaking and can be described as “a blend ofprinciples and virtues” or deontological and virtue ethics which is all informed by the above such as theTrinity, the Holy Scripture, and even the natural law (Rae, 2018, pp. 19-20).
